Create a Web site folder

 

Create a folder on your computer where you will put all of the files you will create and use in your website. Suggestion: Create a new folder in you’re My Documents folder and name it ‘myportfolio’. You will transfer all of your other files, such as graphic files (.gif and .jpg), word docs, powerpoint files, excel files, etc., into this folder. You will also save all of your web pages that you are going to create into this folder.

Click on File > New > Folder

Name your folder “myportfolio”

and click on the Enter button.

Open your ‘myportfolio’ folder by double-clicking on it. There shouldn’t be any files in it, but the top of the window should look something like this:

Now you have a web site folder on your computer to put all of your files into that you will use to create your web site. You will also be using this folder to upload your files to your server.
